This is the least stable emotional description in the trumps. It says a state is turning: warming, cooling, or simply shifting from what it was last month. It does not say towards what.

Reversed
Reversed the turn goes the other way, or gets stuck. One reading is a decline in feeling, interest cooling for reasons neither party engineered. Another is a repeating pattern: the same emotional cycle running again with a new person in it.
Resistance to change is also common, someone hanging on to a feeling whose moment has passed because the alternative is to admit it has.
Outside romance
At work this can be enthusiasm tied to the current state of a project rather than to you. In a friendship it describes affection that comes and goes with circumstance, which is not fake and is not reliable. In family readings it often marks a relative whose warmth tracks their own situation, so the distance you notice is frequently about something you are not in.
What a feelings position can and cannot tell you
