The three angles
Taurus stands 180 degrees from Scorpio, and Leo and Aquarius stand 90 degrees away on either side. No other sign makes a hard angle to Scorpio, so the difficulty list has three names and cannot have more.
All four are fixed signs occupying the middle of their seasons. That is the mechanical basis for everything the lists say: a disagreement between two fixed signs does not resolve on a schedule, it simply persists in a stable form.
Mars, want and refusal
